Cranston City Council Vice President becomes unopposed Democratic nominee in November’s General Election

CRANSTON, R.I. — Cranston City Council Vice President Lillian Mosley declared victory Tuesday night in the State Senate District 28 Democratic Primary. She now runs unopposed in the November General Election to fill Senator Josh Miller’s State Senate seat.

“The voters of Cranston and Providence have put their faith in my strong track record and leadership experience to deliver results and continue fighting for District 28,” said Mosley. “This was a close primary race amongst five stellar candidates, and I am grateful to them, as well as the voters who turned out to the polls, and the unions and elected officials who put their support behind my candidacy.”

Mosley celebrated her victory with supporters at Ted’s Stadium Pub in Cranston Tuesday evening.

Over the course of her career, Mosley has served as Senior Policy Advisor to Rhode Island General Treasurer James A. Diossa, as Deputy Secretary of State and Director of Administration for former Rhode Island Secretary of State Nellie Gorbea and as Deputy State Treasurer and Director of Unclaimed Property under former Treasurer Seth Magaziner. Mosley is a cancer survivor, daughter of immigrant parents from Colombia, a mother of two, married to a war veteran, and a Rhode Island College graduate. She is running for the District 28 State Senate seat to continue fighting for the quality of life that constituents in Cranston and Providence deserve.
